OpenAI announced today that it is acquiring Statsig, the experimentation platform known for powering A/B testing, feature flagging, and real-time decisioning. Alongside the acquisition, Statsig founder and CEO Vijaye Raji will become Chief Technology Officer of Applications at OpenAI, reporting to Fidji Simo. In his new role, Raji will oversee product engineering for ChatGPT and Codex, including infrastructure and integrity systems across the Applications organization.

New leadership at OpenAI

Raji brings a mix of entrepreneurial and large-scale consumer engineering experience, having previously spent a decade at Meta before founding Statsig. His company’s focus on rapid experimentation and data-driven iteration has already influenced OpenAI’s product development processes. Once the acquisition closes, Statsig’s employees will join OpenAI, while the company continues to serve its existing customer base independently from its Seattle office.

Anthropic raises $13 billion in Series F at $183 billion valuation

Anthropic also announced today that it has raised $13 billion in a Series F round led by ICONIQ, with Fidelity, Lightspeed, BlackRock, General Atlantic, and others joining. The round values the company at $183 billion post-money, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s most valuable AI firms.

Growth support

The funding follows a year of rapid growth for Anthropic’s Claude platform. The company’s run-rate revenue expanded from $1 billion at the start of 2025 to more than $5 billion by August. Anthropic now serves over 300,000 business customers, with enterprise demand accelerating and adoption of Claude Code growing tenfold since its launch earlier this year.
The new investment will be used to meet rising enterprise demand, expand internationally, and deepen Anthropic’s research into safety and interpretability. Investors highlighted the company’s ability to pair technical leadership with a strong focus on reliability and customer trust.
