Decreasing lambda_dur did not have a noticeable impact, i.e. no change to step loss and only a tiny improvement to pitch loss.

In fact all my fussing today since introducing the new 8ms time quanitization ("quant8ms") has amounted to no noticeable improvements. (managed to make things worse)
