Meta issue: very hard to insert my cursor anywhere in this report until save & reload??
Jist hit a BUNCH of issues trying to type in particular spot—heading, start or end of section, a particular word—and my cursor kept getting pushed to a weird other places. Save & reload fixed it. Also fwiw this is a very old report I just converted to new mode, maybe that's it.
Surprise: different implementation & behavior for panel in Workspace vs Report?
The left is my view from editing a 3D scatter plot from a report. The right is from a workspace. The icons vs text (config vs summary) are different. The workspace way is more reliable (works much better) but much much slower (I had to select the dimensions then wait for a while, in some cases selected the dimension 3-4 times and the chart wasn't updating, eventually updated). The Report way is faster/much more responsive—and I think is the newer way?—but doesn't let me touch the "Gradient" option after I create one (see other report bug).
I also appreciate the notation on the left because it makes me think of Weave.
Meta issue: Can't export chart to an already saved report (doesn't show as an option in the dropdown)
- In project deep-drive, I created and saved the report "Custom log gradient".
- In this project (pytorch-intro), I created this "Log scale" report. I want to export the chart below to my "Custom log gradient" report, but it doesn't show up in the search dropdown—even if I save & reopen both reports (was hoping to update the list of my saved reports—maybe I have too many reports in deep-drive so the latest/newest one is not showing up? Maybe we don't update that cache very often?

Feature request: let me set the title of a new reports from this modal
I do this all the time—I want to add a chart to a new report, it would be amazing to type the title of the new report here and get that as the starting title (instead of "Untitled") when the report opens in a new page.

Given how the user is sent into the fresh report draft where the title is readily editable, I'm pushing back on this feature request because I don't think it buys any convenience. We basically already have this but before the draft is saved instead of before the draft is created.

This is probably because the runs included in the chart were different. I noticed that the filter on this runset was different than the one on the workspace. I got rid of both filters so it shows all 854 runs and then the performance was identical.

The icons vs text (config vs summary) are different.
This isn't a difference between workspace vs. report. It displays the icon form when you're editing, but if you save the config and re-edit the chart, you'll see that it's presented in the text form. The fact that we're displaying "config:" and "summary:" instead of the icon is a bug.
