As part of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge funding project hosted by the US Economic Development Administration, the Georgia Institute of Technology was chosen as one of the 21 winners, being awarded $65 million for their Georgia Artificial Intelligence Manufacturing Technology Corridor (GA-AIM) project.

In following the intent of the challenge (that is, to bolster regional economies through jobs and advancements in the "industries of the future"), GA-AIM is dedicating the funds to create innovation across economic sectors by increasing research and development across AI and manufacturing sectors.

The GA-AIM project is spread among many different avenues of progress, including direct research and development support at the AI Manufacturing Pilot Facility, focused outreach and technical assistance for smaller businesses through Gorgia Tech's Enterprise Innovation Institute, supporting students from all educational levels, and much more.
