Funding rounds for autonomous vehicle companies have slowed, but Helm.ai stands out with a newly announced funding round. Helm.ai's quirk in a sea of autonomous vehicle companies is it's use of unsupervised learning for it's artificial intelligence systems -their solution doesn't rely on massive amounts of annotated data or large simulations.
Helm.ai licenses AI software for autonomous vehicles at driving levels L2-L4 (partial to high automation) for urban driving, highway driving, and highway trucking.
Who's funding Heml.ai and where's the money going?
Helm.ai just announced a Series C funding round totaling $31 million, bringing total funding raised to $78 million. This round comes led by Freeman Group with additional participation from ACVC Partners, Amplo, Honda Motor Co., Goodyear Ventures, and Sungwoo Hitech.
The money will help Helm.ai deliver products based on their systems and push for further engagement with customers and partners. It will also bolster their research and development efforts.
