Imagene Raises $21.5 Million To Fight Cancer With AI

Medical AI startup Imagene has announced the successful funding of $21.5 million through a $3 million Seed round and an $18.5 million Series A funding round.

Imagene, an AI startup in the medical field, sees worth in using AI for cancer detection. Imagene's AI models work to classify patterns in digitized biopsy images of cancer tissue that humans wouldn't be able to detect themselves. Instead of relying on lengthy human processes for cancer classifications, their AI can speed up the process from several weeks to just a couple minute with a high level of accuracy.

Who's funding Imagene and where's the money going?

Imagene has announced the complete of both a Seed round and Series A funding for a total of $21.5 million. The seed round was solely funded by Blumberg Capital for a total of $3 million, while the Series A funding round was co-led by Larry Ellison, David Agus, and Eyal Gura for a total of $18.5 million.
Right now, Imagene's AI product is currently used for research purposes only. With further investment towards research and trials, they wish to reach their goal of bringing the power of AI to help in cancer diagnosis and drug development.
