In early May, Meta AI revealed OPT-175B (and it's smaller counterparts), a set of natural language processing models. OPT-175B was built to be open and accessible to all in a true strive for transparency and accessibility in the machine learning model production space.
The announcement said that while the 175 billion parameter model would still need to be locked behind a manual access request, all of the smaller models would be available to download unrestricted. However, the largest of the smaller models would be released in the near future. Well, today's the day that the 66 billion parameter version of OPT is available to be downloaded, no access request required.
Where can I download OPT-66B?
OPT-66B can be downloaded from the same GitHub repository as the other models, available here: https://github.com/facebookresearch/metaseq/tree/main/projects/OPT
OPT-66B's pretrained weights must be downloaded in a series of 8 files because of it's huge size. Each piece is around 15.3 GB, so the total size you'll need to make room for is around 125 GB.
