Oracle has announced that their MySQL HeatWave service, a service which accelerates MySQL database queries for both transactional and analytical action using machine learning, is now coming to Amazon Web Services.
This new option will allow new customers who want to use MySQL HeatWave keep their current setup on AWS, and those who are currently working on split-up multi-server setups to consolidate to AWS.
While MySQL databases are great for transactional queries, using them to grab analytics can be a lengthy and complex process. With HeatWave, transactional changes to your database are replicated to an analytics cluster, which can then be used to query for analytics data in real time. The analytics cluster within HeatWave leverages machine learning to speed up and automate the complex processes required for transforming raw database data to analytics.
MySQL HeatWave also lets you train your own machine learning models connected directly to your MySQL database, with built-in tools to intelligently suggest and choose the best options for your model; Training and inference can all be handled through MySQL HeatWave alone, and it even provides explanations alongside the predictions determined by your query.
