After cross-country network outages earlier this month, Canadian communications company Rogers has released a statement outlining steps they will be taking to improve network reliability. The outages left Rogers customers across Canada without mobile or internet access, including vital 911 emergency calls.

In Sunday's statement, Rogers CEO and president Tony Staffieri mentioned that one of the avenues the company will pursue is the investment of $10 billion Canadian dollars for increased oversight and testing into network service reliability, including the greater use of artificial intelligence.
The extent to which artificial intelligence will play a role in supporting the network isn't mentioned, but the $10 billion will support whatever developments may take place over the next three years.
