Through a round of Series B funding headed by Insight Partners, Unlearn.AI has raised $50 million in the goals of further developing their AI-driven "Digital Twin" service used in clinical trials.
Unlearn.AI has already partnered with several companies to engage studies using their product.
What does Unlearn.AI do?
Unlearn.AI is a company focussed on developing AI for use in speeding up clinical trials in the development of things like vaccines as well as prediction in optimal solutions to disease treatment through clinical trials.
Unlearn.AI creates what they call "Digital Twins", or TwinRCTs, for use in clinical trials. Baseline data is collected from patients enrolling in a clinical trial, which is then paired up with instances of their powerful pre-trained AI model, each of which go on to represent an individualized Digital Twin for each patient.
A person's Digital Twin is compared with the real person through further trials, developing a more and more accurate depiction of the person's medical trajectory, allowing for accurate predictions of disease progression.
These Digital Twins are also used in randomized controlled trials, being a potentially useful tool for artificially increasing the number of participants in the control trial.
Who's funding Unlearn.AI?
Unlearn.AI has raised a total of $50 million in a Series B funding effort headed by Insight Partners with additional participation from Radical Ventures as well several already existing investors into the company.
Dylan Morris, Managing Director at Insight Partners, has also joined the Board of Directors at Unlearn through this investment process.
Unlearn.AI has earned a total of nearly $70 million through investment rounds to date.
The raised money is to be used in hiring efforts to double their employee count and broaden the scope of their Digital Twin project to cover more diseases.
