ChatGPT is everywhere! Everywhere I search for news, it's making a headline. I must've mentioned it at least a few dozen times.
Microsoft has now integrated that very technology into their search engine, Bing, and browser. They plan on integrating more of this across all of their products. Google has long dominated the search engine market and Microsoft now challenges their reign with a smart search engine. As of now, it looks like you have to waitlist for the new Bing.
The landing page when you open Edge will have a text box where you can ask any question and an AI much like ChatGPT will respond.

Additionally, they have a new pop-up next to the search results with text and information summarizing the answer you seek (hopefully).

This is interesting! It looks like you can even chat with the AI after it has already provided you with a suggested answer. They provide recommended responses if you get stuck. I also notice this new feature provides links to learn more about the topic. The cell phone user has Siri. The household has Alexa, Echo, and Nest/Home. Programmers have Copilot. Windows has Cortana. Now Bing has ChatGPT.
It also seems that the famous AI is making its way into Microsoft Teams, serving as a translator, meeting summarizer, task list generator, among a variety of other things. Though this isn't free. It comes at a monthly price of $7.
Funny enough, I have both Google and Bing on my laptop! But I've always been using Bing (for no strong reason in particular). My funny reasoning was that I enjoyed the change of scenery in the landing page. 😂 I do enjoy using Bing for that, but in all seriousness, it looks like functionally-speaking, Microsoft is poised to disrupt Google's dominance in search. This is an exciting competition and the average Binger or Googler will most definitely enjoy the time-saving outcomes of this rivalry!
