ChatGPT & Whisper API
With their 90% cost reduction and the introduction of these 2 APIs, lots of developers are eager to create awesome apps with ChatGPT and Whisper!
Snapchat created a new feature called My AI, built on the ChatGPT API, which is a personalized chatbot that can write recommendations to you and even help you chat with other people.
Quizlet has Q-Chat which is an OpenAI API-built feature that tutors quizlet users.
Instacart uses ChatGPT to provide the user better recommendations in search.
ChatGPT is also, now, your shopping assistant in Shopify.
Speak, an app focused on teaching language, uses the Whisper API for pronunciation.
Coincidentally, ChatPaper, also uses the ChatGPT API.
ChatPaper
ChatPaper is a recent project made possible by the ChatGPT-3.5 API! It summarizes research papers.
ChatPaper has a demo on HuggingFace along with VisualChatGPT. The demo can be found here. You will need an OpenAI account as you need to enter your API key. That can be found in this page.
There are 2 pages: an API page and a ChatPaper page. I believe the API page is to test that your API key is valid and the ChatPaper page is for you to 1) paste in your API key and 2) upload a research paper. Additionally, I advise you to add a text string listing all the headers in the paper in comma-separated format.
VisualChatGPT In HuggingFace

It seems you need an OpenAI account as you need to enter your OpenAI API key. Your API key can be found in this page.
Then, you can converse with VisualChatGPT and have it generate images for you in real time while you talk to it! Unfortunately, as of now, it doesn't seem to work. :/
Conclusion
Ever since the release of ChatGPT, we have seen an explosion of ChatGPT-powered apps. And with an API now, this only makes it easier for developers to create these apps. In the near future, the various ChatGPT variants and siblings like VisualChatGPT may be adapted to the developer workflow in a similar fashion. And though great, these APIs still seem much like a black box, just now you have a new outlet to interact with them.
