Hugging Face has introduced a new platform they're calling Private Hub, essentially a private and secure method to access everything that normally comes with Hugging Face Hub while keeping your own work privately accessible by only you. This new platform is targeting companies specifically, as a method to support ML workloads on the Hugging Face platform while respecting the constraints such an environment requires.

Hugging Face clearly envisions their platform as the standard for managing any kind of machine learning development workflow. With Private Hub, they extend that ideal to companies who prefer a closed-source and private development environment.

Who is Hugging Face Private Hub for?

Hugging Face's Private Hub is platform for companies who want to use Hugging Face's powerful Hub platform while keeping their own company data private and securely hosted according to their needs.
A company's coding environment can turn out messy if there's no solid platform being used for project management and versioning. The vast majority of companies in the tech sector use services like GitHub, or local Git setups, to manage an ever-growing codebase for their project.
Hugging Face pictures itself as a GitHub for machine learning, yet until now did not offer a method for companies to leverage their platform in a private and secure way. The new Private Hub platform lets companies manage their ML projects in the same way they might with a private Git setup to still gain the advantages of using the Hugging Face platform while keeping internal work private.
Customers' Private Hub can be hosted on Hugging Face's own servers for easy setup, from cloud servers owned by customers through various cloud hosting companies, or via local on-premises hosting for complete control.
