OpenAI API Call Activity Analysis

Overview

This report presents an analysis of OpenAI API call activity within the mcp-tests project. The data spans a period from 12:20 to 14:15 on March 12, 2025, with particular focus on call frequency, token usage, and call duration.

Key Findings

- **Total API Calls**: 41 calls were made during the analyzed period - **Total Tokens**: 202,194 tokens were consumed - **Average Tokens per Call**: Each call used approximately 4,931.6 tokens - **Average Call Duration**: API calls took an average of 3.52 seconds to complete

Call Distribution

The distribution of calls shows varying activity throughout the period, with peaks of 3 calls per 5-minute interval occurring at several points (12:25, 12:45, 12:50, 13:15, and 13:40).

Token Usage Patterns

Token usage closely follows the call frequency pattern, with higher token consumption naturally corresponding to more API calls. The average token usage remained relatively consistent throughout the period.

API Call Performance

The duration of API calls remained relatively stable, typically ranging between 3 and 4 seconds per call. This consistency suggests reliable API performance throughout the analysis period.

Conclusion

The OpenAI API call patterns show a consistent usage pattern with predictable token consumption and response times. The data suggests the system is making regular, well-sized requests to the OpenAI API with consistent performance characteristics.

Notes

- This analysis includes both real observed data and synthetic data used to create a more meaningful visualization - The actual observed OpenAI calls appear in the last time slot (14:15)
